I came across Fit 2 Eat s website just 15 minutes before closing time and picked up some yummy vegetarian dishes to go. Their granola is pretty good too!
Our first time here.. Very impressed by the quality of food which is both healthy and delicious. We ate as much as we could and then took some home. Will be back soon. Thanks Sara!
So glad you enjoyed your food! I’ll look forward to feeding you again.
My favorite place for lunch in Madison. I like to stop by on the day that I work at the Arboretum Bookstore.
Thank you for your support!
Stopped in yesterday for the first time and loved your restaurant! Will be back whenever we are in town. Great food, healthy and reasonably priced. And as vegetarians, it’s always wonderful to have another place in Madison where we can find great meatless options. Thank you!
Elena:
It would be great to see you, and to feed you! Hope your coworkers will join you.
Sara
First time at Fit2Eat, used my Groupon for Tandoori Chicken for dinner. Excellent Southwestern Bean Salad and Curry Couscous, and the Brownie and Assam Tea rock! I’ll need to “swing by” there more often on my usual drive route. Thank you for an excellent dinner!
Thank you for coming in, and thank you for the feedback. You can always call ahead & we can have your order packed, ready-to-go.
We’ll look forward to feeding you again soon!
Congrats on your Groupon success! Are you carryout only, or do you have tables for eating in?
Thanks!
John
The emphasis is on carry-out but we do have 7 tables, 13 seats. We don’t take reservations so seating is first come, first sit!
Thanks for the good wishes; our success was a surprise to the Groupon analysts as well. As long as purchases are spread out & customers are patient, we will survive this sudden fame!
I see that you have many vegan options! My family of 5 (and sister’s family of 4) are vegans and very interested in swingin’ by!! Yeah!
Jill:
We fed you before I saw your comment; hope your family enjoyed dinner. Working with complex carbs make vegan options a natural benefit & having a lactose intolerant family member means that our vegetarian options are frequently vegan-friendly.
In addition, because we make our food from scratch, I can tell customers what is in each dish. Customers can always call in to check if the menu that week will fit their dietary needs.
Just bought dinner and dessert for 2 from the groupon.com special… can’t wait to come in for the first time this Thursday for my birthday lunch! Is everything on the menu (lunch and dinner items) available all day that you’re open? If not, what are the hours for lunch vs. dinner?
Sorry if you are one of the people we turned away at lunch, especially on your birthday!
The Groupon specifically states that it is for dinner as we wanted to increase that aspect of our business. This means that we are willing to pack dinner carry-out anytime during the day, but eat-in customers will need to wait until 4 PM to redeem the coupon.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi, I loved the stuffed red pepper and the scones!! Will be back tomorrow. This week’s menu looks very good. Best of luck!!
Chicken Shwarma in whole wheat pita….. can’t wait to try. I haven’t had shwarma for over 5 years… I have been looking for a place that sold Chicken Shwarma in whole wheat pita; these are the best. I hope they have them on the menu often.
I wish our pita was a good as fresh-baked, then this would be perfect. But chicken, peppers, onions & tahina: what could be bad?!
It would be helpful for me if you labeled which of the items if any on your menu are gluten free. Others would probably like to know if they are vegan? Other common allergens?
We are happy to answer specific dietary questions when asked. Labeling everything on the menu, for all the different dietary requests we receive, is a bit overwhelming at this point in time (only 4 months in business). Not to mention overcrowding the menu, but I may get there eventually given enough time and more staff!
Please refer to the response to Ms Morgan with regard to gluten-free items.
The menu looks delicious! Just wondering if you use local, organic ingredients? Looking forward to having dinner at Fit2Eat soon! Thanks!
I see you have a lot of entrees without meat. Hurrah! Do you also make vegan entrees and desserts?
Vegan options depend on the menu.
We have a vegan dessert this week, almond blondies. The veggie polenta lasagna has cheese on top but after receiving other vegan requests, I will be making a batch without, tomorrow 4/13. The starch & vegetable sides are all vegan-friendly, as is the red pepper 2-grain salad.
Hope that helps.
Looking forward to a visit soon. Menu sounds great!!
Elena! Can’t wait to see you! Drop by soon; kids welcome, too.
I picked-up food for me and my husband tonight – what a delicious dinner we had at home after the kiddos were in bed. Thanks for your wonderful food and attention to healthy eating. We’ll be back again and again!
Always good to hear from customers, especially happy customers! Glad we could make your life a little easier.
Please bring back the coconut-almond macaroons and make these cookies a regular part of the dessert menu. They’re even better than the chocolate chip cookies.
And the coco-almond macs are lower fat, too!
I can make macaroons & meringues in the dry winter months, but they suffer with humidity. I will consider adding them again next week so you can get your fix before summer, but first I have some new sweets to try!
The salmon we purchase are actually farm-raised, but as the equivalent of free-range chicken, living in uncrowded conditions without the use of hormones (certified).
“Wild caught” fish are overfished, and will only be a renewable resource when the fishing industry is more controlled, with regulations agreed upon by all countries, and when habitats, especially spawning grounds, are more protected.
Everything we eat represents a balance; there are pros & cons to everything we put in our mouths. As consumers, we need to be aware of all the factors that affect our diets; only then can we make truly informed choices.
Is your salmon Pacific wild caught?
Hi Sara,
Great looking menu this week. Love to see the Greek Meatball Sandwich is back again…
It makes me think of that old song, “Me and my greek meatballs, driving down the street…” 🙂
I’ll have my order in by Wed.
John
Well, how could I refuse? Depriving friends of favorite dishes is not in my nature!
Don’t be put off by the name, because this food isn’t only healthy, it’s DELICIOUS! The chicken breast w/apples is the best chicken I’ve ever had. I bought some as take-out, then actually went back the next day to buy more to freeze so we can have it whenever we want, it’s that good! Having this place in the neighborhood is almost like having our own, personal chef. One that is really, really affordable.
Great to know when a recipe is a success…I’ll be sure to keep the apple chicken on the repeat list.
What a great place! Healthy, delicious, and reasonably priced.
Thanks! That was our goal; glad we hit the mark.
What a wonderful place! We LOVE the food here. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the vegetables fresh with just the right amount of crunch and all presented so beautifully! The cozy atmosphere, the great food and the warm attention of Sara and Ron thaw the chilliest winter day. If your resolution this year is to eat more healthfully, resolve to make fit 2 eat your go-to spot for flavorful food.
Thanks for your enthusiastic support, Kathy! Sorry I missed most of your visit; hope to see you again, soon.
Sara, are the soups available after the lunch hour?
Jamie: soup is available at all hours. If we were open for breakfast, I would serve it to you then, as well!
Great news. And up until what time are the sandwiches available in the day?
Sandwiches are available any time (during business hours, of course!).
I’d eat here all the time if I lived in Madison! Nice looking menu! Like the fact that it changes all the time! Sara and Ron, I’m very impressed! Congratulations!
Lori
Thanks, Lori! Hope to have the opportunity to feed you the next time you’re passing through town.
What time are dinner items ready to be picked up? Cold to be heated up at home would be fine.
We are open from 11am to 7pm: you can pick up dinner any time during those hours!
